Early Life and Youth
The future actor was born on June 27, 1976, in Chicago. Joseph was one of three children in the family. He was a calm, inquisitive child. While attending the all-boys Catholic school at Notre Dame College, he developed a love for the arts and enthusiastically participated in the school’s drama club.
In 1990, as a teenager, he appeared in a McDonald’s commercial. This first professional experience set the course for his future. After finishing school, he went on to study acting at Columbia College Chicago, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts.
Joseph’s first job was on the Broadway stage. Gaining experience, he played one of the leading characters in a production based on Herman Wouk’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Caine Mutiny. Sikora’s screen career began with a background role in the sitcom The Neighbor and a minor role in the police drama series Adam-12. In 1993, his name appeared in the credits of David Anspaugh’s biographical feature film Rudy.
This was followed by a series of roles in action-packed TV shows and dramas, including Frasier, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, and NYPD Blue.
Between 1997 and 2001, Sikora added several roles to his portfolio in films like My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Watcher, and Ghost World.
