Talented child
The future actor was born in Chicago in 1971. Anthony, his sister Anne and brother Adam spent most of their childhood in the city of Joliet. From an early age, the boy showed an interest in the big stage. Seeing Anthony’s talent and efforts, his mother enrolled him in a theater group. Twice a summer, he visited a special camp, where he studied and developed acting skills.

At the end of 2017, Anthony made a statement that shocked his fans. He said that at the age of 14, he became a victim of sexual harassment by 26-year-old Kevin Spacey. A colleague invited him to a party, where he tried to seduce Anthony under the influence of alcohol. The young man managed to escape from the rapist, as the latter was very drunk and could hardly stay on his feet. Soon, Spacey responded in his microblog. He wrote that he didn’t remember that story, but if Rapp was telling the truth, he was very sorry for what he did. After apologizing to Anthony, the man admitted that he was a homosexual.
Rapp didn’t accept the apology and sued his abuser, demanding $40 million of moral damage compensation. The jury sided with Kevin because of inconsistencies in Anthony’s testimony.
Nevertheless, Anthony Rapp’s acting career is actively developing. In 2023, he toured with his one-man show Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical Rent, based on a memoir about his relationship with his mother.
