Lookingglass Theatre Company received the Tony Award as an outstanding regional theater in 2011. Unique platform for performances
Lookingglass Theatre Company, opened in June 2003, is located in the Water Tower building on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
The real pride of the venue is the stage. Its configuration can be changed depending on the needs of each production. In general, the hall accommodates 240 people with 60 balcony seats. This multi-purpose studio is often used for theatrical presentations, special events, classes, rehearsals and many more.
The project, developed by Morris Architects Planners, envisioned the transformation of the existing space into a comfortable and modern performance facility that accommodates two theaters and additional audience and artist space, such as lobbies, dressing rooms and concession rooms. Lookingglass Theatre Company shares the building with still-operating water service.
